In Loving Memory of Boots Martin

The Pensacola community is mourning the loss of a beloved icon, Boots Martin, who left an indelible mark on the lives of those around her. Her passing on Thursday evening surrounded by her loving family has left a void that can never be filled.

Born Olga Irene Stacey to Hub and Lucille Stacey, Boots grew up with a passion for dance that would stay with her throughout her life. She graduated from Pensacola High School and went on to use her love of dance to become a teacher at Berniece Burlingame's studio, where she spent many years sharing her gift with others.

In addition to her work as a dance instructor, Boots was also the founder and instructor for the Daughter of the Nile Shimron Temple #133 Dancers, a position she held for almost 50 years. Her dedication and love for teaching inspired countless students and earned her a reputation as one of the most respected instructors in the community.

But Boots' impact went far beyond the dance studio. She was a devoted wife to Big Jim Martin, whom she married on December 10, 1954, and they were together for an impressive 65 years. Together, they raised three children, Kim Bradshaw (Chuck), Jim Martin Jr., and T.J. Martin.

Boots is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Chase Bradshaw (Trish), Colby Bradshaw Miezejeski (Vince), Shaye Martin (Jeffrey), Trey Dees, Holly Dees White (Matt), Ally Dees, Madelynn Martin, Luci Martin, and Sue Martin. Her great-grandchildren, Taylor, James, and Alanna Miezejeski, and Liam Waters, will also deeply miss their beloved grandmother.

Throughout her life, Boots touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and good food, making it a place where many happy memories were made. She was a devoted friend to Berniece Burlingame and was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her Givenchy fragrance modeling.

Boots' legacy extends far beyond her impressive resume. She will be remembered as a kind-hearted, compassionate, and generous person who always put others before herself. Her passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, but it also serves as a reminder to cherish every moment with loved ones and to never forget the impact one person can have on many.

Rest in peace, dear Boots Martin. Your love, kindness, and dance will never be forgotten.
